But does this policy will result in the used car dealer going out of business and thus affect the industry with a workforce of over 100,000 people that?

This is because if the price of a new car is low enough to be bought, perhaps many people are choosing a new car than a used car.

However, for those involved in the used car industry, new car price reduction is not expected to adversely affect.

Kamarulzaman Zainal used car dealer in Gombak, Selangor, said although the new car price down, cars still needed low -income people because the price difference between new and used cars is still high.

"There used car prices is only half of the price of new cars , used cars still so they are paid so little choice", he said.

He worked as a car salesman for 11 years, said the government's policy to reduce car prices provide an opportunity to young people to own cars.

"The number of customers used cars currently also increased since the loan and lower monthly payments", he added.

Meanwhile, a used car salesman at the Bangsar, Shareeta Majid said the profit from the sale of used cars may be slightly lower because many customers are choosing lower priced new car.

"Many people in the city would choose to buy a new car, but in rural areas or villages used cars are still a choice for many customers in the area prefer a cash purchase from bank debt ", he said.

For Cars and Credit Companies Association of Malaysia ( FMCCAM ), car price reduction can be done in stages to protect the used car industry in Malaysia.

FMCCAM president Datuk Tony Khor said the association had been prepared earlier by doing some changes in used car prices by looking at three key factors, namely new car prices over time, the condition of used cars and the demand and supply.

He admitted that there will be the impact of lower new car prices used car industry but it is not so great.

"Among its effects, may not be able to sell a used car with aggressive profit .

"Whatever it is, the majority of our members can receive a new car price declines progressively as minimal impact," he said.
