SRI MEDAN - A total of 25 landowners involved in the implementation of a development project, here, soon the farmers want compensation from related parties.
Construction is intended is a bridge between the two regions, namely Wahid Village Drainage, Drainage Jayos, Sri Medan with Drain Number Nine, Sri Dayong, Sri Medan.
One of the landowners, Kusni Simoh said, due to bridge construction, part of their land had been taken as the road.
He said they had worked the land since 1968 and have gained some notice in 5A.
"With such notice, we are required to pay the initial premium in December 2008 but now the land is taken as the road without any compensation.
"We do not mind if the land is taken for development, because it will facilitate the public, but expect the rights of owners of this land be given due attention," he said to the Daily Herald.
Another landowner, Razali Abdul Rahman, 76, said he was one of the first person to open the land which was previously forest.
He said the land acquisition for development involving an area of approximately 20 hectares on which was placed the sign of respect.
"Since 2008, after receiving notice of 5A, we have to plant oil palm on the land since before it was somewhat neglected due to flood-prone.
"Similarly in 1995, was no effort made to develop this land, but it was burned and abandoned for several years after trying planted with crops such as fruits," he said.
Razali said, now, they just plant oil palm, there were groups who wanted the land without any compensation when the notice given 5A is shown the name of every owner.
