20 Stranded

Deputy Regional Police Sadao, Leftenen Colonel Nirat Pandum, said most vehicles in Malaysia stranded there after the owner was involved in road accidents in the region.

He said, most car owners involved in road accidents is not to claim back their vehicles causing it stranded in the police station. "Normally, according to the procedure, the Thai government to send a letter to the Malaysian authorities to trace the owner of the car involved to re-claim their vehicles.

"We give a certain period to Malaysia so that car owners claim that car, if we do not deliver to the Customs auctioned off to Thailand.

"Some cars are stranded here have not claimed more than five years of ownership," he found in the police station Sadao, Thailand, recently.

He said, there are stored in the police car was following the owner involved in drug smuggling case that brought in from Malaysia to Thailand for the black market.

"We have an 'eye-eye' that controls the entrance to the border to detect people carrying drugs, especially ketamin, Eramin and cough medicine.

"Many car owners saw this immediately fled the authorities pursued their suspicion of carrying drugs and a police car carrying suspects to be kept at the police station as evidence during the trial in court later," he said.

Nirat said he advised the people of Malaysia who visit this country to notify the consulate office in the face of problems.

"Many cases of Malaysians who drive in Thailand does not report to the consulate office when their vehicle is stolen or involved in an accident here.

"There are also cases of police and customs seized vehicle Thailand Malaysia because the people have no valid documents or other offenses under the law here. "I advise all Malaysians that their vehicles confiscated or stolen while visiting Thailand soon to report to the consulate office so easily helped," he said.
