Fixed pass against Valentines Day celebration - Hadi Awang

Still insist pass Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture, monitor and act if there are any parties that promote the celebration of Valentines Day that stance despite opposition from its allies, the DAP. 

Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said the party would not retract the comment stand because it is a responsibility as Muslims and it has nothing to do with those who profess other religions. 

He said other religions the right and liberty to celebrate Valentines Day, but the response at all not allowed in Islam. 

"We did not pull the stand, the rights and duties of religion, free relationship can Muslims to? (Of course) and that can not stand Pass. 

"The non-Muslims, the right of him (to celebrate) we (Muslims) can not be tampered with," he said at the launching ceremony at the College of Educators National Integration and Islamic scholars in Kampung Delek Right, here today. 

Present, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Education, Higher Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Halimah Ali. 

Abdul Hadi comment on media reports about the fact DAP Chairman, Karpal Singh, who did not agree with the position passes against Valentines Day celebration on 14 February. 

Karpal said Pas stance is contrary to the principles of human rights and freedom as practiced in a democratic country like Malaysia. 

On 7 February, a pro-opposition news portal quoted the Deputy Leader of the House Youth Pass, Nik Abduh Nik Aziz as saying, urging his government launched a campaign against Valentines Day celebration on the grounds that it promotes immorality. 

Following that, the House of Youth Pass on February 10 and sent a memorandum objected to any activity to promote Valentines Day to the Minister of Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Rais Yatim, who submitted to the Secretary-paper, Norazli Noh. 

Abdul Hadi is seen disappointed with the stance Karpal tried to divert attention to the difference between PAS and DAP to accuse UMNO as failing to be the best model to educate and save the faith of Muslims in this country. 

"UMNO failed to show the model as Muslims, would UMNO become a model, not only in the moral problem but a problem of education, governance and corruption," he said.
